Created at the dawn of the nineteenth century, the Brussels Botanical Garden is a treasure trove of vegetal gems of sometimes unexpected origin. From Japanese medlar trees to magnolias and banana trees, come and discover this astonishing diversity of flora, from lands as remote as they are mysterious. Some of the plants we are familiar with from our gardens have travelled distances far beyond what we could imagine. During your visit, you will discover not only the history of this particularly important site in the history of Brussels, but also the long journeys that certain plants have made to adorn our gardens, brought back by daring plant hunters, sailors and even nurserymen with far-reaching commercial aims.
