Hortus Spiralis

The Tuinbouw garden city was built a few years after its famous sibling, the  Logis-Floréal, with which it bears many similarities. In a much smaller space, Jean-Jules Eggericx designed a group of semi-detached roughcast houses, each with its own food garden. The original project, which is not listed, has given way over time to a more heterogeneous collection of private properties that have undergone various changes.

It is in this small area, a green exception in a rather dense urban environment, that the inhabitants of no. 4 recently settled. Eager to revive some of the community spirit of the past, they are seeking to bring their neighbours together around artistic and environmental projects. For instance, with Hortus Spiralis, a project that is still growing, driven by values of openness to all across all spheres. At the junction of conceptual art and the protection of biodiversity, this initiative makes the sharing and complementarity of different gardens the heart of a community life in the making.

During your visit, you will discover a selection of photos, prints, performances and installations, all in the image of your sensitive and welcoming hosts.
