The Mysteries of Casimir : Garden of Mon Plaisir

In 1933 the Warnimont family built an investment property on farmland next to the former Mon Plaisir estate. The latter had been razed in 1907 to make way for the current Schaerbeek Station neighbourhood. An ornamental garden was then shared by the tenants. It was gradually abandoned before being transformed into a vast lawn around 1996. In 2019 a project was launched to restore biodiversity and make part of the garden a source of food. A greenhouse, vegetable garden and other facilities are breathing new life into the space and promoting a sustainable ecosystem while minimizing human intervention.
