The IFLA Golden Books (1948-1987)
The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) deposited its main institutional archives at the René Pechère Library in 2008, entrusting it with their conservation, inventorization and with making part of the records publicly accessible.
René Pechère was one of the founding members of IFLA. He was successively its honorary treasurer (1949-1950), its secretary general (1950-1954), its president (1956-1958), as well as being the initiator of the IFLA-ICOMOS Committee on Historic Gardens and Sites (now International Scientific Committee on Cultural Landscapes) in 1967.
The IFLA Golden Books (1948-1987) were digitized from 2014 onwards and are since consultable online.
In 2016, the Bibliothèque René Pechère was integrated into CIVA, which pursues the mission set in 2008 and ensures the conservation of the IFLA archives for present and future generations.
