In the struggle for gender equality, access to health through a varied and balanced diet is a key issue, one which in 2013 prompted the non-profit association Amazone to create its own garden, with the help of STIC, the community service department of the municipality of Saint-Josse.

A safe and revitalizing space where people can meet and experiment, this inner courtyard turned orchard and vegetable garden produces fruit, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers. The objective? To make sustainable and ecological food accessible and to forge bonds between feminist and ecological causes. The garden of the Amazone community house is in part maintained by patients from the Helix psychiatric hospital, who are themselves supervised by the non-profit association FABRIK.
