After a long career as landscape architect, Christian Vermander, founder of Buro voor Vrije Ruimte, has published Landschappen het onvoltooide. This two-volume publication offers a retrospective of his work through the presentation of his studies, projects and teaching missions in Switzerland, studies and realisations in Belgium and abroad, as well as through contributions from various authors.
It reveals a landscape practice that is distinguished by a way of thinking that insists on the primordial link between the sense of beauty and nature. Through the prism of his work, he examines the history and the future of what constitutes the exterior space and what is not.
Together, the two volumes offer a unique look at garden and landscape architecture, renewing the wonder and perception of outdoor space in all its aspects, in time and in movement.
With the participation of Chris Vermander, Jef De Gryse (landscape architect) and Paul Geerts (journalist).
