A cross talk shedding light on the relationship between two influential female artists, architect Simone Guillissen-Hoa (born Simone Hoa; Beijing, 1916 - Brussels, 1996) and sculptor Tapta (born Maria Irena Boyé; Kościan, 1926 - Brussels, 1997). This event explores gender issues in their artistic practice, as well as their collaborations and professional networks. It particularly analyzes Tapta's work, the "shell chair" or "Diamond Chair" covered in ropes, dating back to the 1980s. Hosted by Apolline Vranken and Virginie Mamet, this talk examines how their works transcend the boundaries between furniture and architecture.
