Designing Territorial Metabolism : Barcelona, Brussels & Venice

The concepts of metabolism, ecosystems, and circular economy are currently challenging the discipline of urbanism. Designing Territorial Metabolism questions the European foundation of urbanism in relation to the challenge of territorial metabolism and combines theoretical contributions with cutting edge design proposals for European metropolitan regions. It synthetizes two years of intensive research by design on Barcelona, Brussels, and Veneto conducted jointly by the Faculty of Architecture of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), the Instituto IUAV di Venezia and the Laboratori d’Urbanisme de Barcelona (ETSAB), in the context of an Erasmus + Strategic partnership. The book launch will offer perfect conditions to talk about the theme in presence of the authors and editors, followed by a drink.
