Please join us for the book launch of Real Life Brussels, a new publication that puts the transformation of 20th century social housing on the agenda. Edited by BMA, CIVA and KU Leuven and based on a series of on-site debates with architects, commissioners, and inhabitants the book tackles the challenges linked to renovation: the life cycle of various materials is coming to an end, the integration of housing into the urban fabric needs to be reviewed, the habitability and functionality of the buildings have to be improved, the involvement of residents requires new strategies.
The book launch will be accompanied by a panel including Pauline Durand (KADERSTUDIO), Anne Kockelkorn (Ghent University), and Guillaume Sokal (SLRB). Moderated by Kristiaan Borret (Bouwmeester Maître Architecte).
