Schaerbeek Cemetery

In addition to its original function, this necropolis has transformed into a wooded area teeming with animal and plant life. Biodiversity has increased over the years, counting an infinite variety of plants. The development of ecologically valuable zones attracts many species, especially birds. Located on the border of the municipalities of Evere and Woluwe-Saint-Etienne, René Pechère designed this magnificent cemetery-park taking inspiration from Europe’s most beautiful examples.
