Anna Puigjaner is the cofounder of MAIO in Barcelona, which works on spatial systems that allow theoretical and practical positions converge. MAIO’s projects include the 40 Social Housing Units Building in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Urban Kitchen in Barcelona, and the exhibition architecture for the Spanish Pavilion at the 59th Art Biennale in Venice.
Her research focuses on the Kitchenless City, where the elimination of the kitchen from the house allows to reshape biased social structures. Her project has been awarded with the 2016 Wheelwright Prize from Harvard Graduate School of Design, resulted in a PhD and will be published in 2022.
Anna Puigjaner has been teaching at GSAPP Columbia University in New York and was recently appointed as Full Professor of Architecture and Care at ETH Zurich.
