From Nantes to Nancy: about architecture, urbanism and landscape
Alexandre Chemetoff, architect, urbanist and landscape architect, was one of the first to work transversally across disciplines in France. In 1983, he founded the Bureau des paysages, an interdisciplinary practice of architects, landscape architects and urbanists.
During this event, Alexandre Chemetoff will present large-scale projects such as the Île de Nantes development -regularly cited as a model for urban planning-, and the Rives de la Meurthe in Nancy. Addressing fundamental questions such as urban fabric patterns, landscape structures, the rationale of a particular site and the successive imaginaries that have shaped it, as well as the question of time - so important in the realm of landscape - he will shed light on his transdisciplinary approach, from the scale of the city down to the level of detailing.
