This little garden on Place Stéphanie is clearly the work of Jules Buyssens, the great landscape designer of the first half of the twentieth century. Its horizontal plane terminates in a semi-circle, the pathway in opus incertum, the low dry-stone wall decorated with rockery plants, a thicket of bamboo, ferns…. All these elements were highly prized by the New Picturesque Garden movement founded by Buyssens in 1913. Despite some reduction in size over the years, the garden very much retains the spirit of the thirties.
